Dress Like British Elite with Byron Formalwear and Accessories

Italian men may know how to wear a suit, but British men wear a tuxedo like it’s an art form. The proof is in the pudding: look at James Bond, David Gandy, and Laurence Olivier, to name a few. To emulate that sleek British sophistication, American men needn’t look any further than a tux from Byron, Britain’s best made-to-measure clothier.

Bingham’s uses Byron exclusively for formalwear because we believe they’re the best in the biz. They use high quality, luxurious fabrics, and they skillfully construct their garments with high attention to detail.

Byron is also a master of the perfect silhouette. It’s clean and trim, but it’s not tight or uncomfortable.

Finally, Byron also makes formalwear accessories—bowties, cummerbunds and stud sets—that add the final polish any evening look.

Come in and test-drive our Byron tuxedo options today. Depending on alterations, we can have a tux ready for you as soon as one week.

Eco-Friendly Down That Actually Keeps You Warm

Gentlemen, let us introduce you to a new line we are now carrying called Save the Duck.

duck

Gentleman, Duck; Duck, Gentlemen.

Save the Duck is a new line of outerwear for guys who love the warmth and lightness of down but are conscious of their use of animal products.

Save the Duck has engineered what they call (and by “call” we mean “trademarked”) “plumtech,” a synthetic insulation that functions like real down. It’s just as fluffy, lightweight and, most importantly, warm. But since it isn’t real down, it dries fast and cleans easily. It’s also amphibian-friendly.

The more affordable sticker price will make you feel a little more warm and fuzzy too, FYI.

So, Save the Duck offers the best of both worlds—synthetic and real down—and is a must-have addition to your fall wardrobe.

But really, technology like this needs to be seen to be believed, so we invite you to come into Binghams today and see the cutting-edge technology for yourself.

We carry Save the Duck’s quilted jackets and vests in several different colors, and their heat-sealed seam rain jacket.

Save the Duck quilted jackets in navy, red and brown.

Southern Tide’s Fall Collection is Now Available at Binghams in Columbia

Southern Tide is one of our favorite summer brands (remember these awesome t-shirts?), but they also make top-notch fall sport shirts, pullovers, long-sleeve polos and ties.

This season’s collection is a rainbow of deep, rich colors, jewel tones and plaid. Lots of plaid.

Their sport shirts are either 100% cotton twill or cotton twill with a touch of stretch for even more comfort and fit. Each shirt has the classic Skipjack embroidery on the chest pocket.

The polo (the burgundy shirt second from the right, first row, above) is long sleeve, super soft and the perfect shirt for cooler days.

Speaking of cooler weather, when temps really start to drop, we’ve got your back with Southern Tide’s extra warm and luxuriously soft pullovers.

A Subtle Way to Show Your True Colors: Robert Graham Socks

Robert Graham isn’t for every guy. We know. We sell it proudly, but we also understand the terrified look on a guy’s face when he sees contrasting explosions of paisley and stripes on a dress shirt. This doesn’t mean he’s anti-fun, though. Some guys just prefer a more measured approach to statement pieces. So for these guys, we suggest Robert Graham socks.

They have all the personality of a Robert Graham shirt or sweater, but in a more palatable dose. You can wear a pair of, say, blue and red striped socks with a charcoal grey suit or trousers, and they’ll add a perfectly measured amount of pop to an otherwise ordinary outfit.

“Fun socks are great because they only show when you sit down or cross your legs,” explains Dave Danuser, owner of Binghams. “Not only does it add personality, but that little pop adds a level of sophistication and attention to detail to your look, which are qualities you really want noticed.”

Danuser adds that Robert Graham socks are perfect for the guy looking for a middle ground between a monochrome ensemble and the wild, Robert Graham peacock aesthetic.

So, gentlemen, if you’re a guy looking for a subtle way to show your true colors, come check out Binghams’ enormous selection of patterned socks by Robert Graham. They run the gamut from simple stripes to paisley perfection, so we’re sure we have a pair that suits you.

And just so you know, we also have a full selection of patterned socks by Lorenzo and Unplugged. Check them out:

We mustache you a question: aren’t these socks great?

Put Your Game Pants (and Shirts) On

College football season is here and we’ve got the clothing you need to be an exceptionally well-dressed fan. This includes our special Mizzou game-day pants and shirts, made by Peter Millar exclusively for Binghams.

You will definitely stand out in the crowd with these bad boys:

The pants are solid gold, don’t you think?

The pants are solid gold, don’t you think?

You can’t see it from the picture, but the pants have a sleek, flat front design and are 100% cotton.

As for the button down shirt, it’s 100% cotton and has a twill weave, so it’s super soft and dressy. It is also wrinkle resistant (that’s a win right there. For more no-iron shirts, click here) and thus travels well, so you’ll look on-point no matter where you are in the world.

It also has a small Mizzou tiger logo on the left chest pocket, so that you’ll tastefully communicate your school pride in any professional setting.

Come get decked out in our specially made University of Missouri gear today. We’re located here.

Terrific Trousers: Why You’ll Love Meyer Pants

Meyer pants have been flying off our shelves recently, so we thought we’d share with you, and all the men of Columbia, Missouri, why these pants are so fantastic.

 1. They have the perfect trim fit

Nowadays slim is in, but many men still have reservations about the discomfort of close-fitting trousers. With Meyer pants, you needn’t worry about your voice going up an octave—you’ll be as comfortable as you are fashionable.

2. Meyer pants transition well

Meyer pants are what we like to call “bridge” pants. They can be dressy, casual and everything in between. Wear them with a dress shirt and sweater at the office, then a chambray shirt with rolled up sleeves for a weekend drive.

 3. They’re REALLY well made

Meyer, a German company, manufacturers all their pants in Europe and use only fair-trade cotton, sourced from vendors throughout the world. Meyer uses a combination of machine and hand to construct their pants, and employs their very own laundry system.

Of course, to get the best sense of Meyer’s fit, quality and aesthetic, you need to see it in action. Check out their Fall 2015 promo video:

Dress Shirts You Never Have to Iron

Your grandfather was probably a great man. He likely taught you to value hard work, which you’ve applied to all things in your life. All things except for ironing your shirts, that is. Pop Pop may have pressed his shirts by candlelight, but let’s be real: nowadays, ain’t nobody got time for that.

Especially not when the no-iron dress shirt is now a thing. A big thing.

The no-iron dress shirt is not your grandfather’s over-starched, pilly blouse. It de-wrinkles with a light spritz of water and a gentle pull. Sometimes, all you have to do is put it on and wait 20 minutes. It’s brilliant.

Binghams is currently carrying no-iron shirts by Ike Behar, Andrew J and Enro.

We love you gramps, but this no-iron shirt thing is here to stay. And it’s better actually. Eliminating the slog of ironing frees a guy up to devote more energy to things that really matter, like prepping for an important pitch meeting, or charming the missus on date night.

Make your grandpa proud by coming into Binghams today and picking up a few no-iron shirts. Or like five, so that you have one for every day of the workweek (a.k.a. you will never iron again).

We are located here. We look forward to seeing you.

A New Reason to Love Allen Edmonds

There are many reasons to love Allen Edmonds. They are the best in the business at making good-looking, long-lasting shoes, and they make all of their footwear in the U.S.

Read: “Why Allen Edmonds Shoes Are Better Than the Rest”

Now, there is another reason to admire Allen Edmonds, and it’s their new Road Warriors Collection. It comprises five different shoes, all outfitted with AE’s “Road Warriors Comfort Technology. If you’re on your feet a lot, either for work or travel, this collection is for you.

The technology is fancy, but basically, Road Warrior shoes are softer, extra cushioned, super breathable, flexible, lightweight and mold to the unique shape of your feet. In other words, they feel like tennis shoes but look all business.

The collection was born out of necessity. As the Allen Edmonds company grew, staff found themselves traveling a great deal, both across the U.S. and throughout the world. They needed shoes that would tolerate their constant moving and shaking, and not leave them with aching feet at the end of the day.

But, you needn’t be a jet setter to wear a pair of AE’s Road Warriors. “They’re also great for guys who spend a lot of their time on their feet,” explains Dave Danuser, owner of Binghams. Danuser knows what it’s like to be on his feet all day, being the owner of a retail store. “I’m always moving or standing, either helping customers, moving product around the store, so you know, my feet can get pretty tired. The Road Warrior shoes are great though—they feel like tennis shoes all day long, and my feet don’t hurt at the end of the day.”

Unlike tennis shoes, however, all Road Warrior shoes are slip-ons, eliminating the hassle of laces. “They’re especially great at the airport,” Danuser says. “You don’t have the hassle of having to untie your shoes and then sit down and retie them after you go through security.”

And now, before you ask, “why can’t you just wear drivers?” let us explain. The problem with drivers sometimes is that they don’t look professional enough for business travel. They are comfortable and easy to slip on and off, but you wouldn’t want to run into a client or boss in them. AE’s Road Warrior shoes look like regular Oxfords, some with wingtips and all. They even have laces (you just don’t need to tie them). An AE Road Warrior can take you straight from the tarmac to the boardroom, no change of shoes required.

We highly recommend these shoes, and think you should at least come in and try on a pair. We guarantee you won’t leave the store without them.

Come into today. We are located here.

3 Colognes That’ll Make You Smell Like a Man

Cologne is tricky for guys. Dudes want to smell nice, but not like a bouquet of fresh-cut roses, or worse, overly perfumed man-meat. Here are three colognes that will keep you smelling fresh and manly:

Moonshine

Moonshine cologne in beautiful wooden box

Does a cologne name get more masculine than “Moonshine?” Probably not. But don’t worry, this won’t make you smell like something brewed in a bathtub. Moonshine has a woodsy aroma with hints of spice, including notes of black pepper, tobacco, leather, gin, and patchouli.

Royall Lyme

Royall lyme cologne in green bottle

This vintage style cologne captures the essence of colonial Victorian gentleman. Its combination of Indian Royall limes (“lyme” is the old English spelling) and essential oils creates a clean, zesty scent that is very subtle (just like a gentleman should be).

St. James of London

good_7319_copy

St. James of London is like the barrel-aged fine wine of men’s grooming products, and this goes for their cologne as well. It comes in five manly fragrances: black pepper & lime, sandalwood & bergamot, lavender & geranium (perhaps not as manly but it’s subtle, we promise), cedarwood & clarysage, and mandarin & patchouli.

See, cologne doesn’t stink.

Smell these scents for yourself right here at Binghams in Columbia, Mo. We are located here.
